Tughans have acted for Craigavon-headquartered logistics firm Manfreight in the lease agreement of a new £9m, logistics facility at Belfast Harbour.
Manfreight, with strategically placed sites throughout the UK and Ireland, provide logistics, supply chain and transport services with extensive sector specific experience of ambient, chilled and frozen foods.
As the first warehouse in Northern Ireland to be constructed to BREEAM Excellent environmental standards, the new 50,000 sq ft temperature-controlled logistics facility will provide flexible high efficiency chilled and ambient warehouse space and will service Northern Ireland’s agri-food producers and retailers for both import and export trading.
Belfast Harbour is solely funding the development as part of its ongoing port infrastructure investment programme.
Tughans team was led by Partner and Head of Real Estate, David Jones with support from Director, Sinead Creighan.
David Jones commented “This warehouse was constructed to BREEAM Excellent environmental standards, a first for Northern Ireland and something we’re likely to see more of in the future. With ever-increasing awareness of the environmental impact of industrial buildings and the reduction in operating costs from green building design and construction, we’re seeing sustainability become a pivotal factor for both warehouse landlords and occupiers.”
