Aoife graduated from the University of Limerick in 2009, and graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast with an LLM in 2012 and an MLaw in 2017. Aoife qualified into the Dispute Resolution Team in 2020 having completed her training contract at Tughans. Aoife has broad experience in insurance matters including the defence of motor, public liability and employers’ liability claims, as well as recovery actions on behalf of insurer clients.
Aoife supports senior members of the team in the defence of personal injury cases arising from exposure to asbestos and other occupational diseases, as well as catastrophic injury claims. Aoife is a member of the FOIL Sector Focus Team on NI Credit Hire, a member of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and the Environmental, Social and Governance Committee.
- Acted in a motor claim which was discontinued following extensive investigations which uncovered a fraudulent claim.
- Acting in a catastrophic injury case which involves complex liability evidence and procedural matters including multiple applications for interim payments.
- Acted in a motor claim in which the Plaintiff pleaded significant personal injuries, which was successfully defended in full.
- Acted in a successful recovery for an insurer client following extensive clear-up operations on a motorway following a road traffic accident.
