Paul graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2013 with First Class Honours. He also studied at St. Andrews University in North Carolina on a British Council scholarship. Having completed his training contract at Tughans, with seats in the Corporate and Dispute Resolution departments, Paul qualified in 2015 and is now a Partner in the firm’s Contracts & Technology team.
Paul advises clients of all sizes across diverse sectors on commercial contracts, including strategic structuring, negotiation, and implementation. In the IP & IT space, Paul has enhanced his expertise through a secondment with FD Technologies PLC’s software division: KX.
Paul is a specialist in Data Protection law, assisting clients with comprehensive Data Protection Compliance Projects as well as advising on ad hoc matters such as data subject rights and managing personal data breaches.
In Public Procurement law, Paul advises public and quasi-public entities in Northern Ireland on their legal obligations under the applicable Public Procurement legislation. He Also supports suppliers in their participation in public tender opportunities and collaborates with the Disputes Resolution team on tender challenges. Paul holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Public Procurement Law and Policy from the University of Nottingham.
